Bailey Library of Things

The Library of Things at the Bailey Library is a collection of unique items available for in-house use or borrowing, depending on the item. The collection offers opportunities for learning, creating, and finding inspiration. Whether you want to explore new skills or experiment with something new, the Library of Things is a great place to start. We will be adding more items regularly, so be sure to check back for updates. Email reference@baileylibrary.org for more information about borrowing these items or to schedule a time to use them in the library.

The Bailey Library in Winthrop is in need of a part-time Youth Services Technician to work in our busy lakeside library.

In this position, we look to you to help create a welcoming, positive, and engaging library experience for young people, from babies to teens, and their families or caregivers. You are often the first point of connection at the Children's Desk, providing friendly, reliable service and helping customers access the full range of library resources. You support the work of the Youth Services Team by assisting with daily operations, maintaining accurate customer records, and responding to questions in person, by phone, and online. You take pride in keeping the collection organized, accessible, and visually inviting by shelving materials, maintaining displays, and ensuring items are easy to find. Your approachable style, attention to detail, and comfort with library technology help create an environment where young people and their families feel welcome, supported, and excited to return.
