Book Groups

We offer a variety of book groups for adults, and everyone is welcome to join, even if you don’t have a Bailey Library card. Please note that book requests through our interlibrary loan lending program are available to Bailey cardholders only. If you don’t have a a Bailey card, your local library will be happy to request a copy of the book.

Title Waves

Join us on the third Friday of every month for a lively discussion with the Title Waves book club. Each month we choose a recent notable fiction title to read and discuss. Bailey Fright Club 

Looking for a spooky reading group? Join our Bailey Fright Club, Bailey Library’s horror book club. We meet on the first Saturday of each month to discuss a chilling read, ranging from timeless classics to modern horror favorites. Crooked House

Join us on the third Saturday of each month for a social hour with Shane Billings dissecting the work of Agatha Christie, the bestselling novelist of all time. Each month a different specific work of the Queen of Mystery will be picked for the group to read and then discuss. Email sbillings@baileylibrary.org for more information.

The Town of Winthrop is seeking proposals from qualified contractors for the installation of a new exterior book drop and associated improvements at the Bailey Public Library, located at 39 Bowdoin Street.

The project will improve patron convenience and accessibility by providing an exterior location for returning library materials while preserving the historic character of the library building.

Proposal Deadline: 3:00 PM, Monday, July 20, 2026
Submission Location: Winthrop Town Office, 17 Highland Avenue, Winthrop, ME 04364

Proposals will be publicly opened immediately following the submission deadline.
