BOOKS >>
The Library has many books to assist homeschoolers. These can be found both in the library’s Parenting section in the Children’s Wing, and in the library’s non-fiction collection in the Adult Wing. Most of these materials are found under the 370s call numbers (Education), while other helpful materials can be found under call numbers 028 (Reading), 649 (Parenting), and 909 (World History). The library’s non-fiction collection is arranged with easy-to-read subject signage. COMPUTERS >>
The library has public computers with internet access and word processing available for use. Children age 14 and younger may use the terminals in the Children’s Wing of the library.

LIBRARY TOURS & VISITS >>
Our Youth Programming Coordinator, Stacy Tomassone is available to give tours of the library with prior arrangement. Information can be tailored to the needs of a particular group, or a particular subject. Email stomassone@baileylibrary.org to schedule a tour.

DOWNLOAD EBOOKS & AUDIOBOOKS >>
Homeschoolers may download the cloudLibrary, Hoopla and Libby apps on their smartphones or devices and use their library card to borrow eBooks and audiobooks. Please note: CloudLibrary is available for all patrons; however, Hoopla and Libby are only available for patrons who live, work, or attend school in Winthrop. If you need assistance with this service, please contact our Adult Services Librarian.

FILM STREAMING >>
Use your Library card to discover thousands of movies to stream through the library’s subscriptions with Kanopy or Hoopla (available only for patrons who live, work, or attend school in Winthrop). Films can be watched at any time on smartphones, tablets, PCs and smart TVs. Both apps are available for iOS, Android and Roku. The apps can also be watched through Chromecast or Apple TV.

ONLINE RESOURCES >>
The Digital Maine Library has thousands of digital magazines, newspapers, and reference books available to homeschoolers doing research. For help finding full text PDF scholarly journal articles, please contact: reference@baileylibrary.org

RESEARCH HELP >>
Homeschoolers may email our staff to request full-text scholarly journals on research topics. Email rfortin@baileylibrary.org with the topic being requested and staff will reply with PDF articles.

ACCESS TO OVER SIX MILLION ITEMS >>
As part of the Bailey Library’s membership in the Minerva branch system, enjoy access to over six million items to borrow from the library. This shared catalog provides access to not only books, but also DVDs, audiobooks, magazines, and music CDs. Minerva can be searched by author, title, subject, keyword, and material type.

PROGRAMS >>

SUMMER READING >>

TEENS >>
Older children and young adults have a wealth of information on colleges, financial aid and scholarships, and careers available to them in the Teen section of the library (located on the west side of the Locashio Adult Wing).
