Volunteer at the Bailey Library

The Bailey Public Library provides a rewarding and enriching opportunity for adults and children (12+) to volunteer their time, or to meet a community service work requirement set by an outside agency. The library is also a great place for local schools and organizations to send volunteers for community “Day of Caring” days. Volunteers are essential partners in our mission to serve as a lifelong learning center offering diverse resources for people of all ages.
All requests for community service volunteer work will be considered on a case by case basis. To volunteer at the Bailey Library you will need to contact our Adult Services Librarian Michael Stanley at: mstanley@baileylibrary.org.
The library has limited spots available, with the following duties:
- Shelve books and DVDs
- Process incoming inter-library loans
- Pull items for outgoing inter-library loans
- Pack items for outgoing inter-library loans
- Shelf reading/organizing
- Sort donated items for the book sale
- Yard work, gardening, weeding
Another way to get involved and help the library is to become a Friend of the Library. For more information on volunteering for the Friends, email: friends@baileylibrary.org
