About

The Bailey Library’s Digital Gallery helps fulfill the library mission as a lifelong learning center offering diverse resources for people of all ages. The project is funded by the Winthrop Public Library Foundation and Town of Winthrop, with initial funding provided by the Friends of the Bailey Library and Winthrop Historical Society. The database was developed to provide free and open online access to images spanning a wide range of subject and history related to Winthrop, Maine. The gallery is mostly the collection of Roland LaVallee, which were left to the Town of Winthrop, but also includes original prints owned by the Bailey Public Library. The gallery will continue to grow as more images are scanned and become available. High-resolution images are available for educational and editorial use only.
