Annabessacook Lake
Size: 1,420 acres | Max depth: 49 feet | Fish: Smallmouth & Largemouth Bass, White Perch, Chain Pickerel
Located: Southern part of Winthrop. South of Route 202 and South-West to Lower Narrows.
Notes: Annabessacook has become one of the most popular largemouth bass fishing spots in central Maine. Perfect for swimming, boating, and fishing.

Apple Valley Lake
Size: 101 acres
Located: South-West corner of Winthrop. To the East of Mt. Pisgah Road.
Notes: Part of the Mt. Pisgah Conservation Area, Apple Valley Lake is also known as Nancy’s Bog. Birding is excellent around the Bog. To Access: From Mt Pisgah parking area, travel southwest for 1 mile on Mt. Pisgah Road to the Bog Road. Turn left on Bog Road at sharp bend. Parking is available before the gate after about 200 yards of rough roadway (shared access road).

Berry Pond
Size: 174 acres | Max depth: 25 feet | Fish: Smallmouth & Largemouth Bass, White Perch, Chain Pickerel
Located: North-West corner of Winthrop, just south of Route 133.
Notes: A state-owned carry-in access site is located off Route 133 on the north shore of the Pond.

Carlton Pond
Size: 223 acres | Max depth: 57 feet
Located: North-East corner of Winthrop. East of Maranacook Lake and 135. At the northern tip of the Carlton Pond Road.

Cobbosseecontee Lake
Size: 5,543 acres | Max depth: 100 feet | Fish: Brown Trout, Smallmouth & Largemouth Bass, White & Yellow Perch, Chain Pickerel
Located: The entire Eastern border of Winthrop, south of 202.
Notes: Cobbosseecontee Lake is the second largest body of water in Kennebec County, and one of the largest bodies of water in Maine. The lake is nationally recognized as one of the top bass-fishing lakes in America due to its impressive largemouth population.

Little Cobbosseecontee Lake
Size: 75 acres | Max depth: 33 feet | Fish: Smallmouth & Largemouth Bass, White Perch, Chain Pickerel
Located: Just North of Cobbosseecontee Lake
Notes: Little Cobbosseecontee is a relatively small shallow lake that drains into Cobbosseecontee Lake. Access is limited to small hand carried boats and canoes.

Dexter Pond
Size: 111 acres | Max depth: 25 feet | Fish: Smallmouth & Largemouth Bass, White Perch, Chain Pickerel
Located: Situated between Berry Pond to the North and Wilson Pond to the South on the Western border of Winthrop.

Kezar Pond
Size: 18 acres | Max depth: 23 feet | Fish: Smallmouth Bass, White Perch, Chain Pickerel
Located: At the North end of Cobbosseecontee Lake to the West.
Notes: Kezar is best suited for warm-water sport fishing. Access is limited to walk-in only.

Maranacook Lake
Size: 1,673 acres | Max depth: 118 feet | Fish: Brown Trout, Lake Trout, Smallmouth & Largemouth Bass, White Perch, Chain Pickerel, Rainbow Smelts
Located: At the center of Winthrop, North of 202.
Notes: Heavily developed lake with many residences and rental cabins. The North Basin favors such species as bass, pickerel, and perch, while the South Basin features cold water trout species.

Upper Narrows Pond
Size: 279 acres | Max depth: 54 feet | Fish: Salmon, Lake Trout, Smallmouth & Largemouth Bass, White Perch, Pickerel, Smelt
Located: Just East of 202, West of 135, and North of Narrows Pond Road.
Notes: Upper Narrows is one of several waters in the area between Lewiston and Augusta that offer fishing for coldwater and warmwater species. Access suitable for small boats and canoes is off the Narrows Pond Road. Landlocked Salmon are still stocked. Lake Trout was once stocked, but has been discontinued. Smelt is restricted to hook and line fishing only.

Lower Narrows Pond

Wilson Pond
